As an inquisitive, imaginative, & quick-learning visual designer, my experience working with lean social change organizations the last 5 years has taught me to be strategic but nimble. I know this translates well into startup culture.
I've learned that design is much more than aesthetics. It is an expression of an organization’s core values, their standards, their ethos. Good design is a vehicle for engagement and awareness.

What is your weapon of choice?
Other proficiencies include: InDesign/Illustrator, digital marketing, graphic design, UX/UI & product design, wireframing/prototyping, branding, Keynote, HTML, & CSS, user testing, nonprofit management as well as infinite curiosity.
Why did you join Startup Institute?
I believe in creative action, this is my contribution to the fabric of social change. I've spent the last 5 years working in the nonprofit sector drawing attention and resources to social causes that I care about such as education. I realized that I would like to work in more growth-minded sector that doesn't hesitate to think outside the box.
So I joined Startup Institute in order to learn the finer intricacies of UX design, to prepare to join the team of social enterprise or mission-driven startup (and to be part of this badass movement they are creating!)
What does the most ideal project or job look like?
I am a self-taught graphic designer which translates into life-long learner. This field is ever-evolving so I'd like to know that continuous learning is supported.
The most fulfilling projects are also team-driven in collaborative environments where I have the support and creative freedom to make a difference.
