I am an energetic, eager professional who wants to change the world by creating a synergy between personal and professional passion.
Passionately driven and inspired by the uncommon collaboration of people making uncommon ideas spark, ignite and come to life, I believe we can and should use business as a catalyst for social change.
With a unique professional background spanning public relations, community relations, energy management, packaging and marketing, I love the challenge of taking on new roles, being part of different types of teams and working on a variety of different projects.
I am so ready for the next challenge, to contribute to meaningful organizations, to learn from others and to jump in feet first. Every day is an opportunity and a choice, and I couldn't be more thrilled to have this opportunity!
What skills do you bring to a project team?
As a member of your team I will bring:
Project management skills.
A great sense of humor (except on Tuesday's).
Taking my job seriously, but I will never take myself too seriously.
What gets you out of bed every morning?
Life and it's great opportunities. I get out of bed because every day is an opportunity to make a difference in the world and in the lives of others. Some days these opportunities are more profound than others, but they are what makes me feel totally connected to the world around me.
We all have a choice when we wake up in the morning. I personally choose to not wait for perfection, but rather to start living. Life, it won't be perfect… it shouldn’t be.
But it should be real. It should make you sweat. It should make you question. It should make you feel. Most importantly because it's yours; Life ... it should be you!
If you could describe yourself in 3 words, what would they be?
Passionate. Eager. Resilient.
Professionally, where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I tend to not let myself get defined by a particular role that I see myself in, but rather defining what kind of professional I want to be and with whom I would want to be working with. I see myself leading, collaborating, learning, educating and making an impact amongst colleagues and peers who believe we can better our environment, our communities and change the world.
Martha, you seem like you may have some very unique interests beyond Technical Marketing ... Tell me more!
Formally a competitive synchronized figure skater (yes, like synchronized swimming on ice), I represented the United States in competition internationally for 4 years throughout college. Now that I am a "has been," I do enjoy staying active within the sport as the head coach of the Boston College Women's Club Synchronized Skating team, volunteering with US Figure Skating and of course kicking it around on the ice for fun (so many non-triple axels)!
Off the ice and outside the office, I really love photography, hiking, traveling, running, cooking, floral arranging, learning new languages, meeting new people, jamming with my iPod, spontaneous dance parties and so much more. I recently discovered two awesome new hobbies; playing the ukulele and getting out on our local river with a stand up paddleboard.
I also have many other lofty aspirations like being a back up dancer for Shakira, but for now I am focused on the Technical Marketing challenge!
